Review: Travelling Slacks

Travelling Slacks by J.T. Lawrence
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

This book was very creatively written and authentic feeling. However, I don't really understand the overarching point of the whole thing. Especially where the ending is concerned. I found the whole thing very funny. I do recommend it for a chuckle.

Review: Colton

Colton by Melissa Belle
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Colton and Skyler had a connection that was amazing but Skyler was scared and ran away. Ten years later, fate seems to bring them together again. Skyler is still scared, but she also can't deny that she is drawn to Colton.

I really enjoyed this story. It was very amazing and adorable. I connected to Skyler on a very deep and personal level. I feel like more of these types of books should be out there. I feel like they encourage abuse victims to talk about their stories.

There were some not so realistic touches in this book that made me a bit leery of giving it the full five-star rating it deserves. Most of the things are just me being rather nit-picky.

Either way, it was a great read. It was very uplifting and inspirational. I am glad that I didn't let my judgment about the cover get the better of me. This book is a perfect example of why they say don't judge a book entirely by the cover. Fully recommend.

1) What fine part of the world are you reading from today?

Georgia, United States

2) Which book in your stack are you most looking forward to?

I actually didn't set out a TBR pile this time around. Didn't decide to join until the very last minute. My main goal is to get caught up on my reading. I'm very behind.

My pita chips and hummus! Or maybe the lovely Sweet Chili Doritos!

I have a long-term boyfriend of going on 5 years (October 25th!). We have three beautiful dogs that are spoiled rotten and two outdoor cats who have claimed us. The cats belong to everybody but they like our house the most.

Review: The Unsuspecting Gold Digger

The Unsuspecting Gold Digger by J.T. Lawrence
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

If I'm looking at this as a mere story of fantasy value, it's a pretty interesting story. One that I could say is quirky and fitting for this time of the year. I wouldn't say it would become one of my favorite stories of all times. But it would be an enjoyable read. From a realistic point of view, this story disturbs me to my very core and makes me question many things.

Review: Ascension: Volume I, Part I

Ascension: Volume I, Part I by Yolanda Hatcher
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I loved loved loved this book! I need to get my hands on the rest of them so I can devour this story! The characters were quick to connect to and root for or hate. I really adored the darkness versus light vibe as well. It could have been the normal blah blah of it all, but it wasn't. It had a very unique twist that I adored. I just couldn't get enough. I didn't want to stop reading.

There's only one little flaw I find with this book is that there are certain moments that were brushed over that I feel like should have been given more clarification. Also, it takes a bit to realize that time has jumped. This is just my opinion of course. Maybe it's written like that on purpose.

Either way, I loved it. I fully enjoyed it. I couldn't get enough of it. I fully recommend it! I NEED THE REST OF THE BOOKS!

Review: The Itch

The Itch by J.T. Lawrence
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I did not particularly enjoy this story. It was kind of cringy and bordered unrealistic. It wasn't a horrible read though. I just feel like maybe some important details and points were left out of the story. It happens sometimes in short stories. Either way, I do recommend the read. Especially this time of year.
